Disney World is underneath fireplace after permitting a highschool cheer group to march throughout a parade on the theme park with each chants and uniforms that includes racist Native American stereotypes.
A video of the efficiency unfold rapidly on social media Thursday that includes dozens of scholars from The Port Neches-Groves “Indianettes” Excessive Faculty drill workforce, a bunch out of Texas. Every member is wearing fringed outfits, danced with strikes much like these seen in Native American cultures and chanted, “I-N-D-I-A-N-S scalp ’em, Indians, scalp ’em.”
In fact, individuals have been outraged, calling the incident racist and tagging the varsity’s Twitter web page — which has seemingly since been deleted.
In an announcement Friday, a Disney spokesperson mentioned, “The stay efficiency in our park didn’t mirror our core values, and we remorse it happened. It was not per the audition tape the varsity offered and we have now instantly put measures in place so this isn’t repeated.”
In a considerably parallel incident, it was final summer season when the theme park eliminated all “native” characters from its Jungle Cruise attraction.
The incident comes on the heels of Disney CEO Bob Chapek getting a ton of warmth for refusing to publicly condemn Florida’s “Do not Say Homosexual” invoice … with Disney workers planning a walkout subsequent week.
